Auto-MateTM ControllerThe Omni Scientific Instruments' Auto-MateTM is a revolutionary motion control and data acquistion system specifically designed for XRD and XRF automation. It contains motion control processors, motor drivers, limit inputs, counter/timers, and a RS-232 port. The controller is packaged in a 5.25 inch high 19 inch wide EIA standard enclosure that can also sit on a table or bench top.
The Auto-MateTM utilizes our own proprietary parallel processing technique that dedicates a separate processor for every axis of motion. This arrangement is ideal for automating mechanically coupled and uncoupled rotating and linear motion instruments with up to six axes. Because each of the processors occupies only one slot in the, up to six different instruments can be controlled simultaneously and independently. This multiple instrument capability is further facilitated by the fact that each processor has its own separate reset switch, as well as a master reset switch on the front panel. The Auto-MateTM performs Zone-Scan, a method for quickly and accurately scanning multiple peaks spaced over a wide range. Zone scanning allows you to define up to thirty-two (32) discrete areas, each with different widths, step sizes, and count times. This allows you to examine only the areas of interest with finer resolution and much better counting statistics. Smart-Step allows you to define count time and the maximum counts for data collection. This technique causes the controller to step more quickly over areas of greater intensity, thereby greatly reducing scan time while maintaining data quality. The Auto-MateTM interfaces with a PC via a COM: port, the detector electronics via the PHA output, and the goniometer via an AMP 16 pin round connector. Adaptors for specific makes and models are available. Data is stored internally and includes intensity, position, time, etc. The controller can be paused and resumed without loss of position or data integrity. While the PC is busy processing other software, the controller will continue to collect data points and store them in the 10,000+ data point buffer. When the PC returns to the Auto-MateTM the data points in the buffer will be uploaded and the scan continued. This interactive technique allows the fastest real-time graphic display. These features are best realized when used with our TXRDWINTM software. The Auto-MateTM can upgrade most makes of instruments including:ARL, Bruker, Diano, Enraf-Nonius, GE, Huber, Nicolet, Philips, Picker, Rigaku, Scintag, Seifert, Shimatsu, Siemens, Stoe, and others. The Omni Scientific Instruments' Auto-MateTM carries a one (1) year parts and labor warranty. Features
